Senior UK Maths Challenge
The Senior Challenge is aimed at all 16-19 year olds studying mathematics. The challenge involves answering 25 intriguing multiple choice questions in 90 minutes. The top 60% of students nationally receive a gold, silver or bronze certificate. Top performing students are then invited to take part in follow on rounds and the very best can represent their country in the International Mathematical Olympiad.
Making Maths at Manchester
This residential course is held at the University of Manchester in the School of Mathematics and is aimed at A-Level Mathematics students who enjoy the investigative and creative side of study. Students from around the UK get together to work on advanced Maths problems supported by Mathematicians from the University. The event lasts two days with plenty of chance to meet current Maths students, lecturers and have some fun.
Each year we choose two students to attend for FREE.
“The MM@M experience will stay with me; the department was
welcoming and friendly and the course both enjoyable and
educational. I really enjoyed working in groups at completely ‘new’ maths – and the social side was great too.”
